
State Bank of India conducts the national level recruitment exam for the appointment of Probationary Officers in its branches across the country. The expected number of overall vacancies to be filled this year is around 2,000, which includes vacancies for unreserved, SC, ST , OBC, VH and PwD candidates. Aspirants will have to appear in the online examination to be held in two phase’s viz. Preliminary examination followed by the Main examination. The official notice as well as the application form for SBI PO is expected to be released in the month of May 2016. The Preliminary Exam is likely to be held in July 2016.
Eligibility

Educational Qualification - Graduate degree in any stream from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Final year students can also apply

Candidats should be between 21 years to 30 year.
Exam Pattern
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:
(A)Preliminary Examination

Reasoning (35 questions, 35 marks)

Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions, 35 marks)

English Language (30 questions, 30 marks)

Time duration for Preliminary Examination will be 1hrs.

The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
(B)(i)Main Examination;
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test,

Salaries:
The starting basic pay is Rs.16,900/-(with 4 increments) in the scale of Rs.14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.
The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A & C.C.A as per rules in force from time to time. The compensation per annum at Mumbai is around Rs.8,55,000/-.
The break up of monthly compensation is as under:
Cash Component Rs.36,046/-
Bank's contribution to PF Rs.1,690/-
Housing (Lease Rental) Rs.29,500/-
Perquisites (Conveyance, Newspapers, Entertainment allowance, House & Furniture Maintenance etc. Rs.4,130/-
In addition, the officers are also entitled to other benefits like –
