Central Police organisation (Sub-Inspectors) Exam acronym as CPO(S.I) is conducted by SSC on National level to fill required number of candidates to the post of Sub Inspectors in various Central Government Police Organisations like CRPF, ITBP, CBI, SSB, CISF, BSF and SI in Delhi Police etc.

 

Eligibility

  • Educational Qualification - Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university and equivalent. Candidate who has appeared in the final year of degree exam and is awaiting the result is also eligible to take the exam.  

  • Candidats should be between 20 years to 25 year.

 

Exam Pattern

The SSC CPO-SI paper consists of two papers. Paper-1 consists of 200 questions of 200 marks and the time duration is 2 hrs (10 am-2 pm).  Paper-2 consists of 200 questions of 200 marks and the time duration is 2 hrs (2 pm-4 pm).

PAPER-I

  • Part-A- General intelligence and Reasoning (50 questions, 50 marks)

  • Part-B- General knowledge and General Awareness (50 questions, 50 marks)

  • Part-C- Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions, 50 marks)

  • Part-D- English Comprehension (50 questions, 50 marks)

PAPER-II

  • English Language and Comprehension

     

Application Fee:

FEE: Rupees one hundred ONLY (Rs. 100/-) Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Ex-Servicemen (eligible for reservation) are exempted from paying application fee as per extant Government Orders.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP THE APPLICATION

The Commission uses standard application form for all its examinations. Therefore please read the instructions given in the Notice of Examination carefully before filling up the application form, in your own interest. Instructions have been given for most items in the application itself which should be gone through carefully before filling up the boxes. For items for which instructions are not available, further instructions given below may be gone through carefully. Please go through the instructions given below for filling up each item numbered in the application form:-

Column 1 and 2 Name of the Examination Centre and Column 2 Centre Code Column 11. Preference for Posts Candidates should carefully indicate preference for posts. 15: Candidates may indicate whether they belong to one of the minority communities notified by Govt. namely, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsees) or Jains. Column 16. Educational Qualification from Degree or Equivalent onwards:. If marks are not available (some universities use grades), equivalent marks may be filled or marks column may be left blank.

Column 18. Address for communication Write your complete communication address including your Name in English in capital letters or in Hindi with blue/black ball pen. Do not forget to write 6 digits PIN Code in the boxes. All the correspondence will be made to this address. Column 18.1: E-mail ids/mobile nos. are used for communicating with the candidates in emergencies. It is in the interest of the candidate to furnish these details. Column 19: Permanent address: Write your complete permanent address.

 

18 Photograph Upload your recent photograph of size 4cmx5cm as per specification in paragraph 15 of the notice. Then upload a recently taken scanned photograph in 8 bit JPG format. The digital size of the file must be less than 12 kb and greater than 4 kb and of resolution 100 pixel widths by 120 pixels height. Then upload your scanned signature in 8-bit JPG format. The digital size of the file must be less than 12 kb and greater than 1 kb and of resolution 140 pixel widths by 60 pixels height. Box for Roll Number to be left unfilled (blank) by the candidate.

Signature of Candidate Unsigned application will be rejected summarily

 

Syllabus

Paper -I A. General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non- verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number 9 Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing Address matching, Date & city matching Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other subtopics if any.

 

B. General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.

 

C. Quantitative Aptitude: The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

 

D. English Comprehension: Candidates’ ability to understand Correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.

 

Paper-II :

English Language & Comprehension :Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.
